It was a perfect Fall day In Western NC.
I was tasked to help capture action shots of the “Tournament of Champions” High School marching band competition. Thankfully Russ Parker with Star Fire Sports Photos cut me loose to film the Host band’s performances.
Armed with three GoPros I was able to capture both performances of the “Generation Next” show
These guys and gals are obviously at the top of their game… LOTS of talent and energy creating quite an impressive display!
Hope you enjoy it, I sure did!
What can I say about Ashley and Ryan’s wedding day?
Breathtakingly beautiful weather on a gorgeous family-farm setting in the Southern Appalachians & two people very much in love starting married life in stride!
There’s not much more I can say, but what a treat it was to film their day for them.
This past summer I had the privilege of working with some very talented and creative folks. From that collaboration was born Cherokee Purple Events. You’ll find the links to the group below.
As for the shoot, Jane and Ryan were kind enough to join us as we captured footage showcasing the groups creations and designs . We were challenged by a late afternoon thunderstorm but all went well as the skies cleared and we ended up with some beautiful golden light just before dusk.
Thanks goes to Jodi Rhoden and her team at Short Street Cakes and R. Brooke Priddy of Ship To Shore Studio for letting me grab a few prep shots at their spaces. Credit goes to Jennifer Callahan for conceiving the shoot, and for inviting me along for the fun! Kiersa Holy of Events by Kiersa and Jennifer coordinated all the details.

…….Amanda was justifiably excited about the special day ahead.
It was April 21st 2013 on the Biltmore Estate, Asheville NC. High temp was 60 degrees and it was a gorgeous Spring day. The trees were leafing out, the Redbuds and Tulips were blooming, the bees were buzzing and Peter was playing guitar.
Such a great couple, and we were thrilled to be filming they’re day!
Hope you enjoy this little glimpse into some Springtime wedded bliss!!
Located in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, Asheville North Carolina has a rich heritage of Handmade Crafts and Fine Art. Add to that the benefit of a broad palette of locales for a wedding, from High-Brow & glamorous- think Biltmore Estate. To down-home & casual… Claxton Farm, Black Mountain Sanctuary. Asheville is a popular place for destination weddings and a beautiful blank canvas for couples to design their day around.
On March 30th 2013, Asheville Indie Wedding‘s Jennifer Callahan and The Big Crafty‘s Brandy Bourne and Justin Rabuck hosted Asheville’s first-ever Indie Wedding Fair.
Crafters, musicians, dress-makers, artisan bakeries and small batch spirit-producers, leather-workers, photographers, stationary artists and jewelers (The list goes on) All came together to participate and give brides something a little different and heartfelt to inspire them.
